Struct netstack3_device::ethernet::MaxEthernetFrameSize
source · pub struct MaxEthernetFrameSize(/* private fields */);
Expand description
The maximum frame size one ethernet device can send.
The frame size includes the ethernet header, the data payload, but excludes the 4 bytes from FCS (frame check sequence) as we don’t calculate CRC and it is normally handled by the device.
Implementations§
source§impl MaxEthernetFrameSize
impl MaxEthernetFrameSize
sourcepub const MIN: MaxEthernetFrameSize = _
pub const MIN: MaxEthernetFrameSize = _
The minimum ethernet frame size.
We don’t care about FCS, so the minimum frame size for us is 64 - 4.
sourcepub const fn new(frame_size: u32) -> Option<Self>
pub const fn new(frame_size: u32) -> Option<Self>
Creates from the maximum size of ethernet header and ethernet payload, checks that it is valid, i.e., larger than the minimum frame size.
sourcepub const fn from_mtu(mtu: Mtu) -> Option<MaxEthernetFrameSize>
pub const fn from_mtu(mtu: Mtu) -> Option<MaxEthernetFrameSize>
Creates the maximum ethernet frame size from MTU.
