Struct nix::unistd::Uid

source ·
pub struct Uid(/* private fields */);
Expand description

User identifier

Newtype pattern around uid_t (which is just alias). It prevents bugs caused by accidentally passing wrong value.

Implementations§

source§

impl Uid

source

pub const fn from_raw(uid: uid_t) -> Self

Creates Uid from raw uid_t.

source

pub fn current() -> Self

Returns Uid of calling process. This is practically a more Rusty alias for getuid.

source

pub fn effective() -> Self

Returns effective Uid of calling process. This is practically a more Rusty alias for geteuid.

source

pub const fn is_root(self) -> bool

Returns true if the Uid represents privileged user - root. (If it equals zero.)

source

pub const fn as_raw(self) -> uid_t

Get the raw uid_t wrapped by self.

impl PartialEq for Uid

source§

fn eq(&self, other: &Uid) -> bool

This method tests for self and other values to be equal, and is used by ==.
1.0.0 · source§

fn ne(&self, other: &Rhs) -> bool

This method tests for !=. The default implementation is almost always sufficient, and should not be overridden without very good reason.
