Waits until an event arrives and returns it. It is safe for other threads to make concurrent requests while waiting for an event.

Gets the suspend statistics for the sytem.

Uses the hanging get pattern: the first call to this method will return immediately. For subsequent calls, the server will return only when suspend stats have changed.
