Waits until an event arrives and returns it. It is safe for other threads to make concurrent requests while waiting for an event.

Watches for changes to the system power profile.

On a given connection, the first call will return immediately with the current system power profile, while subsequent calls will only return a new profile as the system power profile changes. This follows the hanging get pattern. Any errors are considered fatal and will result in the channel being closed.
